COALITION FOR A ROYAL COMMISSION INTO IMMIGRATION DETENTION

It is time to shine a light into this darkness because Australians have a right to know what was done in our name.

Australians know something rotten is going on in Australia’s detention regime, but we have no way of knowing exactly what that is or who is being hurt.

This is a democracy and these places are funded by us the tax-payer. We have a right to know what is being done in our name. Because this detention industry is now run by private companies we have no way of knowing the truth.

This has to stop. Only a Royal Commission has the power necessary to force private companies to reveal their documents, hear testimony from the young workers and the mums and dads and children held in these places. It is time to find out what the truth is and fix this mess.

Join us as we demand the Albanese Government make good on the election promise of a more transparent and decent government and that starts with the truth about immigration detention.
